Brenda started music lessons at the age of six. She comes from a long line of musicians; her Grandfather Ted Forsey toured the world playing concerts, and played for Queen Elizabeth's family when he was twelve years old. He played at the Pleadeum Theatre, and after his performance was asked to stay on as the royal musician. He said he was thrilled to be there, but had future engagements so continued his tour. Her mother and father were professional music teachers and played publicly, as well. Inheriting musical talent from both sides, Brenda has mastered the Piano, Organ, Accordion, and Keyboard. She enjoys playing many varieties of music. Brenda started teaching as a teenager, and has continued throughout her adult life.

Brenda loves to be creative with music, and enjoys teaching and sharing her love of music with everyone. She has studied Royal Conservatory, and has her grade seven; she has explored different genres of music and loves to adapt music to her students' level of ability. She loves to teach children as well as adults and to share the joy of music with the world!!

Brenda has many creative interests; she enjoys photography, writes articles, draws, paints, and sews, as well as performing as an extra background person in movies. Brenda loves life; she is friendly, and supportive of all who come into her life, encouraging people to be the best they can be!

Brenda's Piano Lesson Approach:

"My objective in teaching music is to bring out the musicality in each of my students. My goal is to foster and nurture the creative spirit in each student, to generate a love for music, by playing the beautiful tones in the composer's song.

I love to encourage each one of my students to create their own music through the desire to create beautiful songs that resonate from within their hearts. My goal is to help each student learn the techniques of playing the instrument and learn the theory behind the music and to see how it was composed so that they can learn to do this themselves. I want to garner in each student a knowledge that will serve them for the rest of their lives.

It is rewarding to watch the budding musician blossom and become the master of their own music...to see the delight in their faces as they play from their heart the music of their own creation...as well as the music from the wonderful composers in this world and to nurture the love of music through each student's heart. This is a gift that will stay with them for the rest of their lives!

Music enhances the student to access both sides of their brains...the logical hemisphere as well as the creative hemisphere as when they are learning music, the student will be logically learning to read the music, count with the music, send signals to the fingers to play the music and then creatively add the expression and creativity to the music. They color the music with their feelings to create beautiful melodies that will resonate thru the heart forever."
